We had tried in the past to find someone to service our wood stove. When other companies heard we lived in a barn and had a fee-standing stove with a smoke stack that was 21 feet tall, they declined the job. Our son found 1Chimney through an online search. Based on all of the positive review, he suggested this firm. Excellent choice. Boyd explained the process, outlined the procedures, and the cost involved. They gave us great tips for maintaining the stove and added comments about safety issues. They removed a great deal of creosote. That the clean-up was professional was an added bonus. We highly recommend 1Chimney and will use them again for sure.

Boyd and Kathy are great! I called with a request for cleaning and replacing 3 wall inserts on my wood burning fireplace the week before Thanksgiving. While inspecting it he noticed that the floor of the fireplace also needed some repair and put down some new mortar. I was hoping to get it done before the holiday since we had family coming and they did not disappoint! 4 day turnaround and it looks brand new! We will definitely be using them for all of our fireplace cleaning and repairs!

I had originally posted a five-star review on this company, but really feel I have to change it to a one star review after my follow up experience.<br><br>We initially paid Boyd about $600 dollars to have two fireplaces cleaned and serviced. I thought it was a bit steep, but figured if the work was quality and Boyd was dependable I could live with it. The problem is after a few days after repairing our pilot light that wouldn’t stay lit, it stopped working again. I tried to call Boyd, but he has this very annoying Google system that answers the phone and tells you they aren’t available EVER and makes a digital note that you called. They are supposed to call you back. However, I called multiple times and even texted Boyd on the cell number that he had initially replied to me on when I was having difficulty setting up our first appointment on their online reservation system. After waiting three weeks - with no working fireplace in our den - I still had no response from Boyd or his staff. In desperation I finally went back to their online appointment reservation system and set up a new appointment to have my fireplace serviced AGAIN for the same fee I had just paid because the reservation system won’t take your input unless you choose one of the options from the very limited menu. I finally got a text message response from Boyd saying that to get my pilot light to work he would have to replace the entire lighting part and this would cost me another $800 (approx). I found this response to be outrageous given how much I had already paid his company to fix my pilot light less than a month prior. When Boyd sent me the proposal I was so disgusted that I didn’t even bother to reply. I figured he could see what it feels like to make an effort to communicate with someone and be totally ignored. If I were you I’d stay away from 1Chimney and call a more experienced vendor that’s been in business longer and has their act together.

Our experience with Boyd and his team is excellent. They first cleaned our woodburning fireplace+chimney and made some needed repairs. Later, Boyd and team consulted us in the process of transforming to gas. I especially appreciate how Boyd was patient and willing to try a log supplier that they haven't used in the past (I made my own online research and liked the log sets of this supplier the most). I am nothing but delighted with the result of the conversion - I think our fireplace is simply beautiful. I would recommend Boyd and team with no hesitations to anyone who is looking for a skilled fireplace partner!

They also custom fabricated a very impressive new chimney cap for our home, and dare I say, it is the best chimney cap in the neighborhood.
