Nice people but showed up 2 1/2 hours late. Did not want to clean my chimney was quoting a whopping $600.00 for a clean plus thousands of dollars to replace a liner and all the bricks! I asked how much to do it all and refused to give me a set price. Was saying over and over too much work and too much of a hazard for him. Talked my ears off and left. In my opinion he picks and chooses the easy jobs for easy and fast money. Had to go to YouTube and find a way to do it ourselves. To save you a lot of money just buy the cleaning device from Amazon (you need a drill) and vacuum it out yourself, saves you from dealing with characters like this guy.

** Update** The owner replied to my comment and makes harsh comments about me. This statement and much more of his rant , just goes to show the integrity of his character. To me being professional and respectful to your customers is a must. I do not recommend using this guys service at all.

** 11/30/25**
Even used my home pictures on FB ads for his own personal gain. Says a lot about his integrity and how he carries himself. See my home pics , without authorization.

"Cleaned" our fireplace for $250 and the system worked for one day then stopped working, then they said the system or some parts may need to be replaced so the cost would range from $500 all the way up to $2000. Called a different company (Blazin Hot Fireplaces) and the only thing that was needed was the system had to be reset which took less than a minute and they showed me how to do it in case it happened again. Fireplace has been working perfectly ever since.

I had originally posted a five-star review on this company, but really feel I have to change it to a one star review after my follow up experience.

We initially paid Boyd about $600 dollars to have two fireplaces cleaned and serviced. I thought it was a bit steep, but figured if the work was quality and Boyd was dependable I could live with it. The problem is after a few days after repairing our pilot light that wouldn’t stay lit, it stopped working again. I tried to call Boyd, but he has this very annoying Google system that answers the phone and tells you they aren’t available EVER and makes a digital note that you called. They are supposed to call you back. However, I called multiple times and even texted Boyd on the cell number that he had initially replied to me on when I was having difficulty setting up our first appointment on their online reservation system. After waiting three weeks - with no working fireplace in our den - I still had no response from Boyd or his staff. In desperation I finally went back to their online appointment reservation system and set up a new appointment to have my fireplace serviced AGAIN for the same fee I had just paid because the reservation system won’t take your input unless you choose one of the options from the very limited menu. I finally got a text message response from Boyd saying that to get my pilot light to work he would have to replace the entire lighting part and this would cost me another $800 (approx). I found this response to be outrageous given how much I had already paid his company to fix my pilot light less than a month prior. When Boyd sent me the proposal I was so disgusted that I didn’t even bother to reply. I figured he could see what it feels like to make an effort to communicate with someone and be totally ignored. If I were you I’d stay away from 1Chimney and call a more experienced vendor that’s been in business longer and has their act together.

Despite scheduling service more than a week in advance, and receiving multiple emails to confirm the appointment, I received a text canceling the service when they should have been arriving. Later received a call advising they don’t service this area. I would have appreciated advance notice before I drove 90 miles one-way to meet them. It seems like their online reservation system could search the address and zip code to determine service area.
