We recently purchased an older home in Corsicana. We had some concerns about the safety and condition of the wood burning fireplace. We contacted 1Chimney for a cleaning and inspection. Boyd did an inspection and evaluation of the fireplace and chimney. He found that there were some issues that needed to be addressed. He listed them in the order of importance with itemized pricing for each, so the we could determine what we wanted to have done. The estimate was very reasonable so we elected to proceed with all of the recommended projects plus some cosmetic work. I can't say enough about this company. Boyd and Junior are a powerful team. They arrive on time, work diligently, and leave the area clean. Boyd shared his expertise with us, offering helpful information on the operation and maintenance of our unit. I also appreciate Kathy in their office. She communicates in a timely manner, which is quite refreshing these days. Way to go!!

Why will my gas fireplace not light?

The most common causes are a failed thermocouple or thermopile, a dirty or clogged pilot assembly, a stuck gas valve, or a wall switch or remote receiver that has stopped sending the signal. We test each of these on site and carry the common replacement parts on the truck.

Why will the pilot light not stay lit?

A pilot that lights but goes out when you release the knob almost always means the thermocouple is not producing enough millivolts to hold the valve open. The fix is usually cleaning the pilot assembly or replacing the thermocouple, both same-visit repairs.
